Job Details
The successful candidate will be a self-driven individual looking to expand their knowledge and work experience in the HR field. Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for a range of duties including payroll, onboarding, staff events, benefits administration, and assisting with some recruitment and health and safety tasks. In addition, responsible for providing confidential and professional HR support services to general employee enquiries to support the company’s mission and reinforce the Fresh Start Foods - Western Canada's culture and values through retention and development of the best people.
Duties and Responsibilities
Human Resources
â— Update and track several spreadsheets pertaining to referral bonuses, recruitment, and benefits.
â— Run reports through Workday and do audits to ensure information is up to date
â— Train employees on various procedures and policies
â— Answering day to day HR related questions
â— Maintain HR records and ensure strict confidentiality of employee information
â— Coordinate staff events and recognition opportunities. (Family Day, Thank You BBQ, Annual Holiday Party, etc.)
â— Maintain HR board
â— Additional administrative support to the Senior HR Manager, HR Generalist, OHS Coordinator and all other duties assigned.
â— Filing and keeping employee files updated
Recruitment
â— Assist with recruitment activities performing reference checks, on-boarding and orientation.
â— Follow up with new hires on a bi-weekly basis.
â— Ensure new hires complete necessary forms and training prior to commencing work.
â— Ensure new hires have updated their information through Workday
Payroll/Benefits
â— Sign-off timecards using Kronos bi-weekly before payroll close
â— Upload payroll changes and corrections each pay period through Onbase.
â— Assist employees with the company benefit programs.
â— Assist with the annual benefits enrollment for production employees
â— Assist employees with benefits which include enrollment/reimbursement forms/changes online
â— Assist employees with payroll and benefits inquiries
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
â— Bachelor's degree or diploma/certificate in Human Resources Management is preferred.
â— One (1) year of experience in conducting recruitment cycle is preferred.
â— Background in coordinating and planning staff events is an asset.
â— Multilingualism is an asset (Punjabi, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog).
â— Strong written and verbal communication skills.
â— Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with all levels and departments within the organization.
â— Accountable and dependable.
â— Open to work in a fast-paced, changing work environment and able to multitask.
â— Knowledge of Employment Law and the Employment Standards Act.
â— CPHR designation is an asset.
â— Workday and Ultimate Kronos Group experience is an asset
