Permanent, Full-time; 40 hours per week; $35.00 per hour. Extended health and dental Benefits available after 3 months employment.

Job Description

Duties:

• Supervise activities of tilesetters
• Schedule and establish method to coordinate activities of tilesetters
• Train apprentice tilesetters and assess their performance
• Prepare and report performance and progress
• Order and estimate materials for tilesetting
• Settle tiles in position and pressure to fix tiles to base
• Arrange and straighten tile using levels and straightedges
• Place and position mosaic tiles to create decorative wall and floor designs
• Pull out and restore cracked or damaged tiles
• Install metal strips where needed with mortar

Requirements:
• Minimum three years of previous work experience in a related field;
• Must have expert knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the trade;
• Must have experience with wall and floor slab installation on “mud bed,”.
• Must be able to work night shift (6pm-6am)
• Trade certificate in BC is an asset;
• Red Seal endorsement is an asset;
• Certification of Product Training – Schluter, WEDI, ARDEX, MAPEI or similar is an asset.
• English language communication ability is required.
