Manhattan Home is looking for a skilled individual as a Retail Sales Supervisor for our showroom located in Nanaimo BC. This position is full-time with 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week.

As a Retail Sales Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following:

• Manage retail staff, including cashiers and people working on the floor.
• Meet financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions.
• Ensure pricing is correct.
• Work on store displays and make sure the displays are clean and ready for the customers.
• Coach, counsel, recruit, train, and discipline employees. Evaluate on-the-job performance.
• Identify current and future trends that appeal to consumers. Approve contracts with vendors.
• Maintain inventory and ensure items are in stock.
• Keep up with fluctuating supply and demand.
• Ensure promotions are accurate and merchandised to the company's standards.
• Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met.
• Organize and distribute staff schedules.
• Preside over staff meetings.
• Help retail sales staff achieve sales targets. Handle customer questions, complaints, and issues

Job Description

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of experience in the retail/sales industry is required, either as a supervisor or a salesperson.
• Completion of post-secondary education will be an asset.
• Must be able to work in a diverse and inclusive work environment.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English effectively.

What we offer:

• $23.75 per hour
• 4% Vacation pay of the gross salary will be paid each pay period.
• Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-time position.
