Job Summary
The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods to meet the company’s operational needs. This includes analyzing market trends, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring inventory levels align with company requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong negotiation skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to balance cost efficiency with quality standards.

Job Description
Procurement and Sourcing:
•Identify and source food products and supplies that meet quality standards and business requirements.
•Evaluate supplier bids and negotiate contracts to secure the best terms for price, quality, and delivery.
•Maintain an updated supplier database, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with agreements.
Inventory Management:
•Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
•Coordinate with warehouse and sales teams to forecast demand and adjust purchasing plans accordingly.
Market Research and Analysis:
•Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and market trends.
•Analyze pricing trends and recommend cost-saving strategies without compromising quality.
Administrative Duties:
•Prepare purchase orders, track shipments, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
•Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audit purposes.
•Resolve issues related to delayed shipments, quality discrepancies, or supplier disputes.
Collaboration:
•Work closely with sales, operations, and product development teams to align procurement activities with company goals.
•Provide insights and recommendations to improve overall purchasing strategies.
Qualifications
Education:
•Completion of secondary school is required.
•Post-secondary education in business, supply chain management, or a related field is an asset.
Experience:
•Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a buyer or procurement role, preferably in the food industry.
Skills:
•Strong negotiation and communication skills.
•Knowledge of supply chain processes and inventory management.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
•Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed decisions.
•Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Language Requirements:
•Fluency in English is required.
