Responsibilities
Tasks
• Operate and drive articulated trucks to transport goods over long distances within Canada.
• Plan trip logistics and obtain necessary documentation for cargo and routes.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories.
• Ensure cargo is properly secured and complies with safety requirements and weight regulations.
• Maintain electronic logbooks to record hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
• Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers using onboard communication devices.
• Report incidents, delays, or mechanical issues to the dispatcher immediately.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct basic vehicle maintenance such as checking oil, tire pressure, and fluid levels.
• Deliver freight to various destinations across provinces in a timely and professional manner.
