Hours of Work: Minimum availability of 46.5 hours (6 shifts) in a two-week period, including every other weekend. Will be scheduled a minimum of 30 hours (4 shifts) during each two-week period with opportunity to pick-up additional shifts

The Pines is located in Bracebridge, Ontario and is owned and operated by the District Municipality of Muskoka. The Opportunity

As the RPN, you will provide professional nursing care to residents and oversee the care given by nonregistered staff in accordance with individual resident care plans and in a manner consistent with the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice, the regulations set out in the Long Term Care Homes Act, and the policies/procedures of the home.

 
What you will do

Under the direction of an RN, provide and ensure nursing care that promotes resident/family choice and acknowledges the residents’ strengths and limitations as well as their need for safety and the safety of other resident/family and staff.

Order, receive and administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the standards set by the college of Nurses of Ontario.

Observe and monitor conditions of residents and report changes in physical or mental status.

 
What you will need

Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing, currently requiring the completion of a postsecondary diploma in Practical Nursing (2.5 years diploma)

Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care home is an asset

Cardiac Life Support

Completed police record check, including vulnerable sector screening
